Megan A. Burroughs
Megan A. Burroughs is an junior partner who joined the firm in 2006. She is a general practitioner who works in several areas including: civil litigation, family law, business law, school law, wills and trusts, and criminal law.
Megan is a Minnesota native, growing up in the city of Princeton. She now calls Austin home where her extended family has been deeply rooted for several years.
Megan graduated from the University of Minnesota-Duluth, summa cum laude, with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Criminology, and a minor in English. During her time as a student, she interned as a law clerk for the Carlton County Attorney.
In 2005, Megan received her juris doctor from the University of Minnesota Law School. While at law school, she was a Minnesota Justice Foundation volunteer and served as a student attorney for the Tenth Judicial District Public Defender's Office in Anoka.
Prior to joining Adams, Rizzi & Sween, Megan worked as a Judicial Law Clerk for the Third Judicial District Court.
Megan is active in the community. She is currently a member of the Board of Directors for the Austin Area Commission for the Arts, Treasurer of the Tenth District Bar Association and a member of the Tenth Committee. In 2013, she began her service on the Austin Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. She is a founding member of the non-profit, S.P.A.R.K., which was instrumental in bringing a dog park to Austin. Megan is a chartering member and past Treasurer of the Rotaract Club of Austin, MN and served as Secretary/Treasurer of the Mower County Bar Association. She is active in her church and has served as a board member of several local organizations.
